I wanted to record on my blog what happend a couple mornings ago.
I woke up to Marek playing in his room! No crying, just the clanking of toys. I was really surprised and proud of him that he wasn't crying like he usually wakes up. So I let him continue to play until he came to the door asking (probably banging) to get out. I started to fall back asleep so maybe 10 minutes had passed and I heard him at the door.
He started banging and then crying so I hurried to the door to get him before he woke up Ammon.

Surprise!

Marek had locked the door from the inside. He had turned the lock himself and now had no clue had to unlock it. I had no idea what to do! I tried telling Marek he needed to UNLOCK the door, to turn the thingy again, to no avail. No use. I ran to get a bobby pin because I had unlocked doors with those before...

(and yes that is white paint from it hitting the wall numerous times)
Then I realize that a bobby pin was NOT going to work because this lock was totally different. It was sealed! You can't shove anything in that! My mind was racing. By this time Marek was crying and screaming so hard he had woke Ammon up and Ammon was screaming in his bed because he was starving.
I thought that maybe I could go outside and open the window from there but then I would have to break it AND there is a huge bush right in front of it. I didn't know who to call. Mom couldn't help on this one! The only thing I could think to do was call Lisa down the road. Maybe with both our brains we could think of something.
So I called Lisa at 6 in the morning! Luckily she was up! She had no idea what to do but offered to come over and help. Just then I had an idea to grab a screw driver and try turning the lock with that.
IT WORKED!
It was quite a morning. Now I keep the screw driver by the door :)

Way to go Macgyver! Man I'm sure glad you thought of that, for Marek's sake! Traumatic experience for the poor guy for sure. He is a smarty pants, that's for sure.
Love,
Chaz
How crazy!!! :) You are pretty much amazing for thinking of a screwdriver, i probably would have, before long, started cryin too. :) What a cute little boy, that Marek just played and played for awhile before asking to get out. :) Ah!
