There is really not too much to explain on these pics. One's of me in front of my )OH-58D Kiowa attack-recon helicopter and one is of the sunset overlooking the red desert. Its a vast expanse of terrain-less sand that goes off as far as the eye can see. To the north east there is nothing but jagged mountain peaks extending heavenward. The next shots are just of me "goggled up" in the cockpit for night flights while performing reconnaissance. It is incredibly odd being all suited up and covered in warm gear when only a few short months ago I was melting from the heat. I guess Afghanistan is a land of extremes, both in terrain and in temperature...not to mention the people!
Love you guys, can't wait to come home to you! It's not too far away now...the closer it gets the more and more I miss you! Take care and know I love you and pray for your safety, health, and well being.
