A Taste of Heaven

Sara, I miss you sweetheart. Saying goodbye to you was almost more than I can bear.

I’ve often wondered what sort of wonder and bliss awaits us on the other side of the veil when we enter that place we call “heaven.” I think I now know. When I walked from the plane that brought me home to you and rounded the corner of the airport to see you standing there with little Marek and Ammon and loved ones near I think the joy that filled my whole being was a taste of heaven. You were so incredibly wonderful to me and had such an enjoyable plan set for my brief time home I think I will enjoy pondering on those memories for the rest of my life. I hope you know how much I appreciate you and all you do for me and the boys. There are so many reasons that I love you and so many reasons I feel lucky to have you in my life. You are my dream girl and our life together is a fairy tale…every single day leading to more and more joy in our “happily ever after.” If you ever doubt your worth just remember a few things…

1. You’re my eternal companion and best partner I could ever dream up
2. You’re a SUPER MOM and do more for our boys than I ever thought a mom could!
3. You’re an amazing teacher, you’ve taught our boys so well, sign language, letters, colors, reading, the gospel…you name it
4. You’re gorgeous; seriously you are an absolutely beautiful woman inside and out and your glowing countenance draws people (especially ME!) to you!
5. You’re kind and sweet; your pure spirit is like an island of goodness in an ocean of worldliness. You see opportunities to serve and uplift all the time
6. You’re athletic, how many people can do a round off to a back handspring followed by a back tuck? Not many! And even fewer without a trampoline!
7. You’re creative and spontaneous. I think EVERY trip we’ve ever been on (and most of our friends) has been your idea and the product of your thorough planning
8. You’re smart and techno savvy. You know how to work electronics way better than me and find deals online like only a hacker ever could
9. You’re organized and selfless. You take care of all the bills and responsibilities of home and do it all without ever thinking of yourself! I had to MAKE you go out with Jennie to shop for new clothes. I’ve never heard you complain about not having enough, or wanting more.
10. You have a strong and steadfast testimony of the gospel. Your life bears witness to your strong Faith in Christ and His church. Your strength and testimony buoy’s up our whole family! Seeing you kneel with Marek in prayer is one of my favorite memories from R&R, you two didn’t even know I was peeking through the door!

There is so many more reasons, your talents go on and on. You’re great at the piano, I love your voice in song, I love your poems, I love your charisma and energy, you’re fearless and brave and fun! You are an expert card player and you are very independent. You don’t need to be told exactly what to do in order to get things done and you take the initiative. You are an example to all those around you and you have a wonderful artistic side. I don’t think there would ever be room enough to list all of the reasons why I love you! One thing is for sure though, one of the things I love the MOST about you is that YOU ARE MINE! FOREVER and ALWAYS NO MATTER WHAT!

I love you Sara. I miss you terribly, my heart isn’t complete without you. I can’t wait until the day I can sweep you back up into my arms again!

PS. Marek: you take care of mommy alright! Don’t be too crazy for her, you are very spunky and fun but make sure you stay near and don’t make mommy chase you too far. Have fun with your Grandparents and take good care of Ammon. Know that I love you buddy. I love to hear you say “Daddy” and we are going to have so much fun playing together when I see you again! We’ll be at the park in no time, and this time I promise not to drop you on your noggin!

PPS. Ammon: Hey little Ammo, I miss you buddy. Your sweet spirit was so tender when I got to hold you. I love the way you talk and coo and I even love your sweet little cry. I hope you feel better soon! I’m praying for you and hope you know that you are the most adorable little baby! I think your mommy and I wonder where you and your brothers blue eyes and blonde hair come from, but no matter what they are adorable! I can’t wait to hold you and swing you around and toss you up in the air! You’re such a brave and handsome baby. I miss you!
