Chaz hid Marek a birthday card before he deployed. I didn't think Marek understood it was from his daddy until he refused to let it go. I just wanted to read it to him but he thought I was stealing it from him and he started freaking out and running away from me crying! I tried to explain to him that I was going to read what daddy had written to him... he didn't let me until he finally sat next to me, looked me up and down a few times and reluctantly handed me his precious card so he could hear what daddy had to say- and believe me, the moment I was done reading he took it back.
It was one of those precious moments.

We are going to REALLY celebrate his birthday in October when Chaz is with us. That is when the true fun will happen and when we will break out the cake and the presents from mommy and daddy. What's two months? He'll never know the difference :)
*Please keep in your prayers the soldiers at war. In the past week I have had one friend's husband lose his leg to an IED and another friend's husband killed by an RPG. PLEASE remember the soldiers who fight for us so bravely...*

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAREK!!! what an exciting day for our little guy, he is such a handsome boy I can hardly beleive it. I'm so proud of him and all of his development. I was glad to see that he not only found my card but that he treated it with such care. I love those little boys back home. Thanks for taking such great care of them babe, and for being such a wonderful mommy, you're the BEST!

It is so hard to believe that he is two. How special that he knows and loves his Daddy so much. You have done a wonderful job raisng those boys Sarah. Our prayers will be with you, Chaz, and all of the others that so bravely serve our Country. Hug the babies for us...

I'm so sorry for your friends' losses. It is heartbreaking anytime you hear news like that ,but so hard when you know the families who are affected by it.
