Ft. Knox trip

I took a mini vacation with my friend Lisa this weekend. We went to Fort Knox, Kentucky to visit her in laws! The boys and I had a really fun time! Here are some pictures of our trip. I wanted to blog them fast so that Chaz can see them asap!
Ammon loves to smile! He loves when he has my full attention. We borrowed this bouncer and a swing from the neighbors and it worked miracles. Ammon loves swings! He slept in it the 3 nights we were there. 9 hours all through the night! Marek is the one that woke him and the whole household up... around 5 every morning! That little turkey!

Mike doing the baby thing. He is sure good at it! A natural grandpa.

We got to go see Sesame Street on post for FREE!!! They were putting it on for the deployed soldier's families! Yay!

I had been wanting to take Marek to it. He WAS really excited. He doesn't smile at cameras!!! And he was acting quite mellow while we were there as well but he loved it. The sesame characters had his full attention.

Ann watching Ammon while Marek and I sat on the floor real close to Elmo :)

The sesame street gang.

Marek loved his light up spinny toy. He refused to look at the camera though. Silly boy.

The Louisville Zoo! They had a lot of new baby animals. We went later in the afternoon so everyone was leaving and then it was feeding time for the animals so we got to see a lot of cool things! Elephants bathing, giraffes eating... too cool!

The zoo has a dinosaur thing there. You have to pay extra but it was worth it. They had like 18 robotic dinosaurs that make noises. A lady suggested that Marek would probably be scared of them because her son was 3 and cried the whole time, but I had my doubts that he would be scared. I have yet to find something that scares him (other then when I freaked him out the other day over the frog...sigh)

I even tried to scare him this time by feeding him to the dinosaur. No cigar! This kid is fearless! He just laughed and stuck his hand out.

Him running to the next dinosaur just laughing away.

He loved them so much he booked it under the rope so he could pet them. Typical. He will pet ANYTHING. Even if it is baring it's teeth and growling foam out its mouth ;)

Signing and saying DINOSAUR

Screaming with pure delight.

He was only it this stroller for a short amount of time. He ran/walked/drug himself around the zoo the whole way. He was the most tired I have ever seen him after. He was whining, screaming and crying by the end of the zoo because he could walk no further. His legs must have been killing him.

Great shot, eh? This gorilla came straight up to the glass and Marek and I jumped back because it startled us. I kinda screamed but Marek just jumped, processed what just happened, then started yelling with excitment cuz the gorilla was so close. Too bad the glass was in the way. I think this really bothered Marek.

He had to pet EVERY single one in the petting zoo. He didn't miss one. I was worried cuz he just ran and ran and grabbed and grabbed. I thought for sure one would buck him. He came out in one piece though! Thank goodness!

Cool, but once he realized it wasn't real he wanted to get down and ride the real one.

Cruisin' the zoo. Ammon's attached to the front.

Lisa and I tried to teach him how to blow those. He just ate them pretty much and got it all stuck to his mouth. It was funny.

This is how I found him one night at our house. He had fallen asleep with his hand sticking out of the door.

Noah grabbed Marek's cheek. It didn't hurt him- this just shows how easily Marek turns red. I hope he doesn't blush really easy when he is older... that would stink!

First ice cream cone at a buffet. Don't worry- he got messy!

One of mine and Lisa's shopping expeditions. Many people asked if these were all my children. I guess it was a sight to see!

All the babies strapped in the car. Get this! All babies SLEPT the whole 2.5 hours THERE and BACK on our trip. Thank the heavens!!!! It was a glorious thing to behold.
Thank you Lisa, Mike and Ann for arranging the trip and letting us come stay with you! Mike and Ann were wonderful with Marek and even baby proofed their house for me. It was a wonderful weekend!
Now to get some shut eye. I'm EXHAUSTED!

So cute. The pictures of Marek refusing to look at the camera and not smiling are exactly what Mio did last summer. When he was really excited by something and loving it, he got really serious, and wouldn't smile or look at the camera. Such a funny little phase.
Good job, girl, you look great and are staying busy. Like you have a choice, though, huh?
