Our Saturday with Marek

One exhausted father. Chaz told me at night he can't sleep if we are both sleeping because he worries about Marek too much. So whenever I am breastfeeding he goes to sleep and then when I sleep he usually is awake. What a cute little new daddy. Hopefully we can figure out how to get our new worrying under control. We just love him so much and he is just so fragile we sometimes just don't know what to do! :)

A picture in the morning with the sun shining in on our Marek.

I love it when he is alert and has his eyes open!

Awe! I just want to eat him up! He is sooo dang cute!!

So, last night wasn't the best night. We found out that I am allergic to latex. I had a latex catheder. YEAH. Not cool. I was so swollen and it hurt so bad that I couldn't walk and I could hardly move in bed. Even with pain medication. The silly thing is the nurses didn't do anything about it until it was really bad. Bummer. Chaz was really sweet and helped me all night as well as taking care of Marek all night. He really is such a great dad and husband. I am so blessed!

Marek gave me a big scare today. I was alone with him and he started gagging mucus and it came out his nose as well. He couldn't breath and his face was turning bright purple. I ran to push the nurse call button and was hitting him on his back and trying to suction his mouth. I was yelling at the nurse to get in here right away when Chaz opened the door (he was just getting back from home) and I yelled at him to grab a nurse cuz Marek couldn't breath. Luckily there was a nurse right outside our door so she came in and started working on him. The nurse was even panicking a little. It was scary. I started balling so hard I could hardly breath myself. Sheesh. Now every second I am worried that he will start gagging. The nurses say that it is common for c section babies to gag because they still have a lot of mucus in their system because they didn't go through the birth canal which would have pretty muched squished the mucus out when they came out. One more thing to worry about! :S He has done it twice! Hopefully not again.

Well, it is like 1:30 in the morning and Marek just left to get a bath so I am going to go to sleep! Marek just got circumsized so he is a little uncomfortable. He just wants to be held close and sleep. So I was just laying down with him and sleeping with him but it is just so hard to fall asleep because he twitches all the time. Can babies have nightmares? He will moan sometimes too. I say he gets the twitching from Chaz. Chaz always twitches at night. Well, I got two hours till I wake up again, so bye!!!

Ohhh the gagging!!!! So so so scary!!! I totally understand that fear! (Carson did that too...my mom was in the room and she even started to freak...so that made me panic even more!) It is so hard to rest with that fear. Oh...and about the latex...major BUMMER! So sorry you had to learn about your allergy that way...wouldn't it have been a ton nicer to have found out at the dentist...maybe get a little rash on your face from the Dr.'s gloves?? Sure would have beat a rash/swelling in another place!! :) We'll keep you guys in our prayers! The boys are so great at remembering to pray for you guys...they are so excited about your baby!
